AENAON

About the Project

Ex-Ante Cybersecurity Federated Digital Twin-based Cyber Range and
Managed Security Services for Offshore Wind Farms.

Our Mission

AENAON develops a Federated Digital Twin-based Cyber Range platform to improve cybersecurity preparedness and resilience of offshore wind farms across Europe. Funded by the Digital Europe Programme through the European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre (ECCC), the project runs for 36 months under Grant Agreement No. 101249723.

The energy sector, particularly offshore wind infrastructures, faces increasing cybersecurity threats. AENAON introduces a proactive cybersecurity preparedness framework based on a federated digital-twin cyber range. The platform enables operators to simulate cyber-attacks, conduct red-team/blue-team exercises, train personnel, and adopt best practices aligned with European cybersecurity regulations such as NIS2.

Why Offshore Wind Cybersecurity?

Offshore wind farms are critical energy infrastructure that increasingly rely on complex digital systems for operations, monitoring, and grid integration. This digital dependency creates unique cybersecurity challenges.

AENAON addresses these challenges by providing operators with the tools to anticipate, simulate, and prepare for cyber threats before they materialise — shifting the paradigm from reactive to proactive cybersecurity.
